About My Therapy Practice
What kind of people do you work with?
I enjoy working with individuals who are curious, motivated to change and no longer wish to suffer their symptom.
Many people seek psychoanalytic psychotherapy in Dundalk, and come with a wide range of struggles, life experiences, and questions, which is where psychoanalytic psychotherapy can be especially valuable. It allows for a response that’s specific to each individual. Many people enter therapy with a deep curiosity about themselves, seeking personal growth, and are motivated to create lasting change. Whether you have a specific question about your life or are navigating broader emotional difficulties, psychotherapy can help. It’s a space to work through various struggles and to engage with what is singular in your experience allowing something new to take shape in how you relate to yourself, your desires, and the world.
What to expect from psychoanalytic psychotherapy?
Psychoanalytic psychotherapy focuses on exploring deeper emotional and psychological patterns that may shape your life. The aim is to help you better understand underlying motivations and bring into awareness the emotional dynamics at play. While progress is singular and gradual, this depth-oriented approach offers lasting change in how you relate to yourself and others.
Sessions & Scheduling
When are sessions available?
Day and evening appointments are available in Dundalk, with limited online sessions for people seeking therapy across Dublin & Ireland. It is important to find a time that is a good fit and when we find this time, we can schedule it as your regular time. This allows you to easily plan for your weekly appointment. Evening appointments tend to fill up quickly, so call to see if it is possible to accommodate your preferred time.
How much does sessions cost?
The investment is €95 per session, reflecting the depth of psychoanalytic psychotherapy in Dundalk and the specialised, tailored approach I offer. This is an investment in yourself and in the process of transformative work. True transformation requires more than just “tools” — it’s about creating lasting change that becomes a natural part of who you are. It’s about fostering deeper, lasting changes within you.
This work naturally involves a different kind of investment than more short-term therapies, but an investment in yourself is always worthwhile. In some cases, we may agree to two shorter, variable-length sessions per week if we both deem it beneficial. These sessions last approximately 20 minutes, with a fee of €75 per session. This reflects the commitment and depth of the work.
The value of meeting twice weekly goes beyond frequency, it creates a rhythm that allows the work to unfold more fully. You may notice it opens up a different kind of speaking, and that the work continues not only during sessions, but in the thoughts, feelings, and reflections that arise between them. This rhythm creates a continuity that nurtures your growth and makes the work more present in your everyday life.
How often do you see people?
Initially, I typically see people once a week. By the time people come to therapy, they’re often feeling stuck, fed-up, or frustrated. Weekly sessions create a rhythm that helps build momentum for change, allowing something new to take shape. Over time, if necessary, we may increase the frequency to twice a week. This is especially valuable when you want deeper movement and lasting change.
How long does sessions last?
Sessions typically last approximately 40 minutes, depending on the material that arises during our time together. This time frame is intentional, designed to allow for focused, in-depth work. The pace of psychoanalytic therapy isn’t dictated by the clock, but by the unfolding of insights and the material that naturally arises. It’s not about running out the clock, but rather creating the space for meaningful, transformative work to take place without becoming diluted or exhausting.
Occasionally, we may decide that meeting twice a week for shorter, variable-length sessions (approximately 20 minutes) would be beneficial. These frequent sessions can be a valuable part of the process. It’s important to note that the work doesn’t end when the session finishes. Much of the movement happens between sessions, as new connections and reflections emerge over time.
