Frequently asked questions.

What kind of people do you work with?

People come to psychotherapy with various struggles and different life experiences and therefore a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy arrangement is valuable as the way I work responds to the singularity of the individual. Many people enter the work with a curiosity and a desire to know more about themselves and they are motivated to create lasting change. Perhaps you have a question about yourself or your life. This is always welcome as psychotherapy can be for working through various struggles and issues, but also it is a place for personal development.

When are sessions available?

Day and evening appointments are available. It is important to find a time that is a good fit and when we find this time, we can schedule it as your regular time. This allows you to easily plan for your weekly appointment. Evening appointments tend to fill up quickly, so call to see if it is possible to accommodate your preferred time.

How much does sessions cost?

The fee is €75 per session. This is an investment by you in yourself and it takes a commitment of time and energy. In some cases, we may agree to two shorter variable-length sessions per week, if we both deem it beneficial, the fee in this case will be €60 per session.

How often do you see people?

In the beginning, I meet with clients on a weekly basis. Weekly sessions are best as it allows us to build momentum. This consistency and commitment to the work allows us to work towards lasting change. In some cases, after some time coming more frequently (twice a week) can be beneficial, this is something I can offer, if we both deem it beneficial.

How long does sessions last?

Psychotherapy sessions last approximately 30 minutes. Each person and situation is unique and sometimes it is recommended that you come twice weekly for variable length sessions, lasting approximately 20 minutes. Having frequent sessions is a valuable and beneficial part of the therapeutic process within the psychoanalytic tradition. Variable length sessions are an effective tool that psychoanalytic psychotherapists utilise. It is not the time that the session has ended at that is important but what has been said or the question you raised. As much as the work happens within sessions, a great deal of work happens between sessions and what gets evoked and formulated from one session to the next.
